Every Message Reaches Mark Ross
There is a research team behind Headhunters International. They map the markets and build the target lists that a senior search runs on. What they do not do is answer your messages. Every enquiry that comes into this practice is read and answered by me, usually within one working day.
There is no contact form and no intake queue between you and that reply.
Write a few lines about the situation. Your current role, what you are trying to solve or achieve, and whether confidentiality matters. That is enough to start.

What To Put In The First Email
The more you put in the first email, the more useful my reply. Here is what matters most for each kind of enquiry.
Search Mandates and Employer Enquiries
If you are an organisation with a senior search requirement, whether international headhunting, a board appointment, or a confidential replacement, outline the brief in the first email.
- The role and the reporting line
- The sector and geography
- Whether the search is confidential
- An indicative timeline
- Why the search is live now
Career Advisory and Candidate Enquiries
If you are a senior professional weighing a move, preparing for a role, or exploring an engagement, describe the situation directly.
- Your current role and level
- What you want to achieve or resolve
- Whether confidentiality is required
- The timeline, urgent or planned
- Which service you have in mind, if any
If you are unsure which service fits, say so. My first reply will tell you which engagement makes sense, or if nothing here is right, it will say that plainly. There is no sales process on the other end of this address.
07:30 to 19:00 UK time, London
For a confidential enquiry, send it to the address above and mark it confidential in the subject line. My first reply confirms receipt and proposes a next step, with nothing about either side disclosed further until it is right to do so.
Before You Get In Touch
Will I speak to Mark Ross, or to someone on his team?
You deal with me. A research team does the search groundwork behind the scenes, but every message into this practice is read and answered by me.
Do I need to know which service I want before I write?
No. Most people who write are not sure yet. Tell me the situation and I will tell you which piece of work fits, or whether none of it does.
Is my enquiry confidential?
Yes. There is no form logging your details and no list you land on. You write to an email address, I read it, and it stays between us. That matters most if you are moving while still in a role.
Is the first conversation chargeable?
No. The first conversation is a discovery call to see whether the practice fits your situation, and it costs nothing.
How quickly will I hear back?
I answer enquiries myself, usually within one working day. You will hear from me, not from a team.
Not Sure Which Service Applies?
A quick index. Follow a link for the full detail, or describe the situation in an email and I will point you to the right one.
