INTERVIEW TRAINING — £245
Interview Training for Mid-Career Professionals
You were more qualified than the person who got the job. They had a way of answering the questions that you were never taught, and in the room it beat you.
Interview Training is a £245 principal-led coaching session from Headhunters International, a London-based executive search and career advisory practice. It is built for professionals earning or targeting £60,000 to £135,000 who reach final-stage interviews and do not convert. The session is delivered personally by founder Mark Ross Roberts over Zoom, and includes a 30-minute review of your CV and the job description before the call, a 45-minute live coaching session, and a written framework issued within 24 hours.
Email ross@headhunters-international.com with your target role and interview date. Mark responds personally.
The Stakes
What You Are Actually Interviewing For
A final-stage interview is decided in under an hour. What it decides pays out over the next three years. This is what the role in front of you is worth across that time, and it is the number you are putting at risk every time you walk in unprepared.
| Target Salary | Three-Year Earnings |
|---|---|
| £60,000 | £180,000 |
| £75,000 | £225,000 |
| £90,000 | £270,000 |
| £110,000 | £330,000 |
| £135,000 | £405,000 |
When you lose a final, those three years leave the building with the other candidate, and you go back to a search that takes months to produce another room like it. The role you eventually accept is often a smaller one, taken because the money ran out before the right offer arrived. The hour is the one part of this you can still change, and preparation is how you change it.
What Goes Wrong
The Mistake That Costs You the Offer
"Tell me about a time you led through significant change."
You open with context. Then the team structure. Then more context. Two minutes in you are still setting the scene, the panel has drifted, and the answer is gone before you reached the point of it.
"How do you handle conflict in your team?"
You give the textbook answer about open communication and finding common ground. It is safe and it is forgettable. They wanted one specific example rather than a philosophy, and they leave with nothing about you they can hold on to.
The people beating you are rarely more able than you. They rehearsed a structure you were never shown, and in the room the structure wins.
Thirty years on the hiring side, the panel's read is largely set inside the first minute of an answer. Bury the result under background and that is the minute you spend, on the part nobody scores.
Who Prepares You
Thirty Years on the Other Side of the Table
Mark Ross Roberts · Founder and Principal
Mark Ross Roberts has spent three decades running the employer's side of senior appointments, conducting the interviews and sitting on the panels that decide who advances, across multiple geographies.
Hundreds of able people eliminate themselves in the room, for want of a delivery system rather than a want of ability. The answers ramble, the results stay buried, and there is no close.
Headhunters International was founded to close that gap. Mark works directly with every client, with no associate tier and no delegation.
The hiring panel rewards structure. The candidates who lose almost always lose for the same reason, which is that they walked in without one.
Mark Ross Roberts holds the FMVA and CBCA designations from the Corporate Finance Institute, and has completed Wharton's Executive Presence and Leadership and Neuroscience in Leadership programmes, alongside a Harvard Medical School credential in Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching. He is the author of four published books and has spent thirty years in international executive search, including 30,000 logged hours of board-level negotiation and 10,000 hours of coaching.
The Process
Formula + Performance Training
This is a working session. It gives you a repeatable system for any behavioural interview question.
01
You Prepare
Research the company, identify your strongest examples, and get clear on the role and where its pressure points sit. This is your homework, and it comes before the call.
Before the call
02
Mark Reviews
Send your CV, the job description and your concerns. Mark reviews everything before you speak, so the call starts informed rather than cold.
30 minutes prep review
03
We Build Your System
STAR framework execution, the formula that makes a behavioural answer land inside ninety seconds. We rebuild two or three of your key examples live, across leadership, conflict and a failure, then work on pace, presence, vocal tone, and a thirty-second positioning close that makes the decision feel obvious.
45-minute coaching call
04
Written Framework
Your refined examples, pace notes, closing questions and a preparation checklist. You apply the formula to the rest of your answers on your own terms.
Delivered within 24 hours
Headhunters International operates from London and works with senior professionals internationally. Sessions run over Zoom, scheduled around your interview date rather than a fixed calendar. There is no associate tier. Every session is delivered by Mark Ross Roberts directly.
The Shift
Before and After This Session
Without the Formula
- Answers that open with context and never reach the result
- Rushing the examples, or losing the pace altogether
- A close that amounts to asking whether they have questions for you
- Trusting your experience to speak for itself, when it rarely does on its own
With the Formula
- Ninety-second answers that put the outcome first
- Controlled pace, with deliberate weight on the results that matter
- A thirty-second positioning close that reframes the conversation
- A clear read on what makes a hiring panel say yes
A front-loaded result gives the panel something to score. A story that arrives at its result last gives them background to sit through, when the result is the only thing on the scoresheet.
Scope
Who This Is Not For
This session is not a CV rewrite. If you are not reaching interviews at all, the problem sits upstream, and the Executive CV Diagnostic is the right starting point. You do not leave with a done-for-you script either. You leave with a method you run yourself. And it is built for the final-stage conversation, where a panel is choosing between you and one other person, rather than for first-round screening.
Your Decision
Two Options
Option 1 — Wing It
Prepare a few examples and hope you do not ramble. Hope the panel sees past a rough delivery to the competence underneath. When someone else gets the offer, you will know what happened. They had a structure, and it carried them past you.
Option 2 — Learn the Formula
Forty-five minutes on the STAR system built around your own examples, then the delivery mechanics of pace and presence, and a close that positions you as the obvious hire. Written notes follow the next day.
£245, one session, no tiers.
Questions
Before You Request a Session
How do I book Interview Training with Headhunters International?
Email ross@headhunters-international.com with your target role and your interview date. Mark Ross Roberts responds personally, confirms whether the session is the right fit, and issues a payment link once a time is held. There is no self-serve checkout. The preparation review starts before the call, so the session is scheduled only after Mark has seen what he is working with.
How much does Interview Training cost?
£245. The fee covers a 30-minute review of your CV and the job description before the call, plus a 45-minute live coaching session over Zoom. A written framework follows within 24 hours. One price, no tiers.
Who delivers the session?
Mark Ross Roberts, founder of Headhunters International. Thirty years conducting executive interviews and leading board-level searches, with 30,000 logged hours of board-level negotiation and 10,000 hours of coaching. Headhunters International operates a principal-led model, so every session is delivered by Mark directly, with no associates and no delegation.
Who is Interview Training for?
Professionals earning or targeting £60,000 to £135,000 who reach final-stage interviews and do not convert. If you are being shortlisted, the CV is working. The problem is downstream of that. It is in the room.
What is the STAR method and why does it matter?
STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result. It is the structure hiring panels are trained to score behavioural answers against. Most candidates know the acronym. Very few can execute it under pressure inside ninety seconds, which is about how long you have before the panel's read starts to set. This session trains the execution rather than the definition.
How is this different from free interview advice from a recruiter?
A recruiter's advice is oriented toward filling the role. Their incentive is the placement. Mark's perspective is hiring-side: thirty years of sitting on the panel deciding who advances, rather than reading a candidate brief. That is a different vantage point, and it produces different advice.
Do you script all my answers?
No. In 45 minutes, two or three of your examples get rebuilt live using the formula. You then apply the system to the rest of your preparation independently. You are buying the method and the performance coaching, not a done-for-you script.
Do you research the company for me?
No. Understanding the company and the role before the call is your responsibility. The session teaches you how to structure and deliver your responses once that groundwork is done. The call starts informed.
Will this guarantee I get the job?
No. Nothing guarantees an offer. What it removes is the failure mode where your delivery comes across weaker than your competence. A structured answer gives the panel something to score, and that is what Mark has watched decide these rooms for thirty years.
What if my interview is in a few days?
Email immediately with the date. Turnaround can be inside 24 hours provided your company research is already complete. Mark confirms availability directly rather than through a calendar system, so urgent requests are handled case by case.
Do you work with candidates outside the UK?
Yes. Headhunters International is London-based and works with senior professionals internationally. Sessions run over Zoom, scheduled around your interview date and your timezone.

Stop Losing to Candidates Who Simply Have a Formula
The hiring market runs on an information gap. Panels are trained to score answers against a structure most candidates have never been shown. Interview Training closes that gap by teaching the structure from the hiring side of the table.
£245
Send your target role and your interview date. Mark reviews whether the session is the right fit, confirms a time directly, and issues the payment link once the slot is held. Sessions are not sold through a checkout. The preparation review begins before the call, so Mark needs to know what he is working with before a time is committed.
